I’m right there in the
trenches. I’m the typical mom. While I do work
outside the home part-time, my number one job is
a stay-at-home mom. I get my two girls up and
out every day. We spend our free time making
crafts, playing at the park, swimming, riding
bikes and watching movies. We’ve got piano
lessons and swim lessons. We eat ninety percent
of our meals at home, so I spend plenty of time
grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning. We’ve
got a big, old Siberian husky named Zack that
sheds like crazy all over the house. Then, in a
moment of delirium (because I’m not busy or
anything), I volunteered to coach my daughter’s
soccer team. I could go on and on, but as you
can see, my day isn’t much different than
yours. You can fill in the blanks. A mom’s
life is crazy, busy, challenging and wonderful
all wrapped up in one.
After the birth of my
first child, I easily slipped into a very
comfortable lifestyle as a mom. Motherhood was
fantastic and something that came very natural
to me. I loved performing my duties as a mom,
but every day was like the last. Something was
missing. In my new identity as a mom, what were
my goals? Sure I wanted to be an excellent mom,
but what does that really mean? Excellent mom?
Is it simply being an ace at housework and
caring for the kids? That simply couldn’t be.
There had to be more. One thing I knew for
certain – I was not achieving my personal best.
Are you experiencing a
similar story in your life? Are you achieving
your personal best as a mother? As a wife? As a
woman? Do you even have a concept of what your
personal best is? What are you passionate
about? Do you feel like you are settling for a
lifestyle that makes you feel very average? Are
you relying on a list of mom-based excuses to
explain why are you are out of shape, eating
poorly, stressed out and tired all the time?
Can you imagine what it would feel like to be a
mom that takes it to the next level? Not just
any regular mom – an Optimom.
I’m a mom just like
you. I work hard every day to be an Optimom. I
won’t kid you. Sometimes I might make it look
easy, but it’s not. I’m doing the same juggling
act that you are. Trying to balance marriage,
kids and career, while at the same time honoring
my personal wellness.
In the midst of all
this, I have an unwavering commitment to
achieving my personal best. This commitment
makes me a better woman, wife and mom. This
means I have made a long-term pledge to fitness,
nutrition and a wellness-focused lifestyle.
Every day I strive to be an Optimom. I want
each of you to discover how outstanding it feels
to be an Optimom.
